  1. Renal Replacement Therapy Programs
    1. Hemodialysis – currently caring for over 400 patients managed primarily in cooperation with the Community Dialysis Care (CDC) system operating 12 satellite dialysis units throughout northeast Ohio. Medical Director: Sheru Kansal, MD
    2. Peritoneal Dialysis – currently caring for over 40 patients. Medical Director: Lavinia Negrea
    3. Home Hemodialysis – a unique program offering “daily” (4-5 times weekly) home dialysis after extensive patient training. Medical Director: Lavinia Negrea
    4. Kidney Transplantation - caring for 1400 patients including over 80 new patients per year. Includes 3 ½ day Post-transplant Clinics and 3 ½ day Pre-transplant clinics (devoted to evaluation of kidney transplant recipients and donors). Medical Director:

    The renal service at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center offers comprehensive clinical nephrology services; this includes an innovative interdisciplinary kidney disease clinic, pre- and post-transplant care, and acute consultative nephrology. Acting Chief: Mahboob Rahman, MD
