Benefits: Fellows are entitled to a four-week annual vacation, a salary commensurate with their level of training, as well as health insurance in accordance with the policies of UH Cleveland Medical Center. Travel reimbursement is available for one conference a year; additional travel reimbursement may be secured if a fellow is making a presentation or poster at a conference.

Application Process: The program offers three to five fellowship positions a year.

Applications for Clinical and Research Fellowship tracks are accepted only through ERAS.

In addition to the application the following documents are required:

  1. Curriculum vitae
  2. Personal statement
  3. USMLE scores
  4. Dean’s letter
  5. Medical school transcript
  6. Three letters of recommendation (one of letters must come from the residency program director or department chief)
  7. Photograph

The application season opens on July 15th, and applications are accepted until August 31st. We accept applications from foreign medical school graduates as long as they have completed a U.S.-accredited internal medicine residency program. Applicants with J-1 visas may apply. The exception to this is the four-year research track fellowship which is funded by an NIH grant and is only open to US citizens and permanent residents. The division does not sponsor H1-B visas.

Interviews for the three- and four-year fellowships are held in September and October. Match results are released in early December.

Sivak Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship application should be made through the ASGE website. Documentation requirements are the same as for the clinical/research fellowships and the same policy regarding visa holders is followed. The deadline for applications is set by ASGE. Interviews are held between the months of April and June. Match results are available in July.
